How to be honoured and promoted by God by refusing to be deceived

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting (Galatians 6:7-8 KJV)

There is a deception out there emanating from the pit of hell. This deception seeks to mock God in our lives. But the Holy Spirit here through the Apostle Paul gives us an express command:

Be not deceived!

The word “deceived” in the Greek, “Planao” means “go astray,” “seduce,” “wander,” or “be out of the way.”

This deception is misleading. In fact, The Message Translation of the above verse puts it this way:

Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God… (Galatians 6:7 Message)

Be not deceived. Don’t be misled! Those are strong words.

How did Amplified Bible put it?

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.)

What exactly is this deception? Amplified Bible actually nails it.

His precepts being set aside!

You see, the devil seeks to deceive, delude and mislead you so that you can disobey God and still be okay. But when you do this, you give people opportunity to sneer at God, scorn Him, disdain Him or mock Him.

Your seed. You are either sowing into the flesh or into the spirit.

When a choir leader sleeps around and still leads the choir, he thinks he can combine that lifestyle, because his choir rendition was still anointed after sleeping with a girl, but you see certain things would happen in his life as a consequence of his seed sown that would bring shame and give opportunity for people to mock at God or disdain Him

People would say things like:

“Why would that happen to that faithful brother? He serves God passionately, couldn’t God protect him?

They didn’t know about the seed he has sown!

Why would this happen to Sister Sube?

Where is her God? They mock at God.

But Sister Sube knows the kind of seed she has sown!

And so at the end, God is not mocked!

My point this morning, stay clear of sin and compromise.

Don’t slow yourself down. Don’t ever believe the voice of the devil that tells you that somehow you can combine a sinful lifestyle with serving God. They don’t go together!

You stand a chance of reaping corruption when you keep sowing into the flesh! When you keep taking advantage of younger naïve girls right in the church, feasting on the ones you are supposed to protect, preying on innocent ones that you are meant to teach, you are sowing into flesh and when the harvest comes, you won’t like it.

I challenge you in this New Year. Keep it real. Get out of deception. Don’t waste five years of your life because of temporary pleasure. Decide to sow into the Spirit and your life will have order. Leave that married man alone. Don’t bring delay into your life.

Pastor, what about when I do everything right and people still mock God in my life? You see, God is not mocked and the scripture cannot be broken. At the end, your harvest will speak, and God will honour you and glorify you with productivity. So He says in verse 9

And let us not be weary in well doing: in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9 KJV)

Don’t get tired of sowing into the things of the Spirit. Refuse to faint or give up. You have been single for a while, but don’t give up? Why? IN DUE SEASON, YOU SHALL REAP, IF YOU FAINT NOT!

It won’t take time, dear one, hold on to God, we will soon eat some good food at your wedding! See it; believe it and it shall be so unto you!

I release God’s anointing that rests upon this ministry to rest upon you this day, I declare your inner man infused with supernatural strength to be able to do it right, that God might honour and promote you!

It is a new day for you! Be blessed today an this week!

I refuse to be deceived

I pray that God will not be mocked in my life

So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. (Galatians 6:9 Message)

Quit every compromise
