“Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it? As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up, or a club brandish the one who is not wood!” Isaiah 10:15
Have you ever wondered where you come from? How you were formed? What you ought to do in this world? Where you will go to when you die? Have you ever asked where your parents and grand parents are? There is one person who knows where a spirit comes from and where it goes to. This person is the Lord of host, he made the heavens and the earth. No one can compare to him.
Our text makes us understand that we are mere instruments in his hands and should always give thanks to him in every situation because it is by his might that all things are done. If there is victory, we should give him the glory, he is the strength behind our victory. If there is failure, he does this to correct us, making us to retreat and move to the right direction which is following his ways.
Before Yahushua Mashiach / Christ departed from the earth he said we should preach the gospel to all the earth, he made us to be axes and saws to cut through the hearts of people, messengers to prepare the way for the Holy Spirit to take control of those who believe. We don’t have to boast at the end saying it was by our might that people became children of God, but it is the Holy Spirit that makes someone a child of God.
Let us learn always to give thanks to God for we are instruments used by God. We are not originators of the word of God, but it is because of your belief that has made the Holy Spirit to come to you with gifts and the gift of wisdom which is a gift of the Holy Spirit is that ax and saw used by God, so there is no room for boasting.
Melt me and make me an instrument of your choice, help me not to boast, but to give glory to you Lord for it is not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit. In the name of Yahushua, Amen
