Are you a friend of God?

Mark 11:25 “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Whom do you call your friend? Your friend is that person whom you share similar characteristics with. Wikipedia lists some of these characteristics of a friend ” sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other’s company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one’s feelings, and make mistakes without fear of judgment from the friend.”
God actually made man in his image because he wants us to be his friends. But because of sin, man did things that made him fall short of that friendship which is his glory to us. Since he is greater than all, we need to give him something as a friend to expect blessings. But when we sin, we no longer can expect that glory because we are bridging friendship.

Christ came to restore that friendship with the father. He thought us his ways before he was crucified and three days later he rose again from the death. The one who believes and repents from his evil ways, the Holy Spirit is given to him, which is what qualifies you to become a friend of God.

The one who believes is a follower of Christ and ought to continue to search for his ways through studying the word, to fully understand what love is. The more you read the word, the more grace and peace will be with you. For when you have love in you, you will forgive your brothers and sisters and the father in heaven will also forgive you.
The apostle John explains more about this in 1 John 3:18-24 “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Yahushua Mashiach, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.”

Prayer: Change my heart oh Lord, so that i may be like you. Mold me and make me to be your friend in Yahushua’s name i pray. Amen
